Chan Meng

Project Director, New Equipment

ChanMengChan Meng was the Senior Engineering Manager, leading a major project management team to supervise construction of the theme park in Qingdao, China in 1998.

In 2000 he joined H H Angus and subsequently became involved in the high rise vertical transportation design, which involved a variety of high profile projects including, the headquarter buildings for Barclays Tower, Citigroup Tower, Clifford Chance Tower, Mc Grawhill Tower, Morgan Stanley Tower in Canary Wharf, London.

Since joining Lerch Bates in 2007, Chan has been responsible for a number of high-rise commercial and residential towers in Russia, Kazakhstan, UK, Turkey, Australia and Slovenia, including a seventy-nine storey Gazprom Headquarter Tower in St. Petersburg, Russia.

  • Competent in the VT design of new buildings – Commercial, residential, hotel, shopping centre, etc and production of Concept & Schematic Design Reports


Lift System Design

  • Extensive experience of traffic analysis and design of lift services


Development of Traffic Simulation

  • Involved with the development of traffic analysis programs including calculations and simulations. Team member for the development of advanced BIM for lift services and visual simulation tool


Evacuation Lifts

  • Developed new guidance for design, specification and use of lifts for evacuation


Inclined Lifts

  • Design and specification of equipment for various applications


Autocad Design

  • Competent understanding of AutoCad to produce VT layout drawings


Performance Testing

  • Competent in carrying out performance testing of all new VT equipment


Acceptance Inspection

  • Competent in carrying out snagging of all new VT equipment


CDM

  • Working knowledge of CDM requirements


Risk Assessment

  • Ability to undertake and prepare generic and specific risk assessments
