Port Baku Towers
Designed by architects Chapman Taylor the scheme consists of towers varying in height from 12 – 32 floors and will include class A offices, double height street front shopping, an international Spa and health centre, restaurants and cafes and over 1,000 car park spaces. The Port Baku Towers development is the first redevelopment project scheduled for the Port of Baku lands (the sea port of Baku is being moved to the Alat district).
Lerch Bates have the design responsibility for both Vertical Transportation and Façade Access for the entire project. Tower ‘A’ will be served by eight passenger lifts comprising seven double deck and one single deck VIP unit, the upper deck departure level is served by two escalators located just beyond the security turnstiles. Building ‘B’ will be served by six single deck passenger lifts. In addition there are additional units to provide internal services to all office floors and plant rooms plus separate passenger lifts to serve the Spa, fitness and car park areas. All the main passenger lifts incorporate the latest destination control systems. The access and maintenance system uses telescopic BMU traversing twin tracks and is designed to lower the upper frame using a parallelogram lift and keep it out of sight when not in use.
