Al Faisaliah Tower

Riyadh

al-faisaliah-towerDesigned by Foster and Partners, the Al Faisaliah Tower is a commercial office building located in the business district of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It is the second tallest building in Saudi Arabia after the Kingdom Centre containing a number of external viewing decks. At ground level, there is a shopping centre housing many of the world’s leading fashion houses and retail brands. The Al Faisaliah Tower is 267 metres high and with 44 office floors.

The four corner beams of the Al Faisaliah Tower join at the top above a golden ball. The design is said to be based on that of a ballpoint pen. Inside the golden ball is a luxury revolving restaurant. There is a clear view of Saudi Arabia’s other skyscraper, the Kingdom Centre from the Al Faisaliah Tower and the two buildings create a silhouetted skyline in the evening. Structural and services engineers for the project were Buro Happold. It is part of the Al Faisaliah Complex, which consists of a hotel, the tower, a residential block and retail centre.
