Peter Ferguson

Peter Ferguson has over thirty years’ experience in the lift industry, starting as an apprentice with The Express Lift Company. Following completion of his apprenticeship he worked as an engineer and then in management in all elements of the industry including service, repair modernisation, new equipment and sales. He has experience of all manufacturers’ equipment and in recent years has specialised in “third party open protocol” equipment.
In 1990 Peter joined Kone and progressed to become a Test Engineer on new equipment. He carried out this role for three years before returning to Express Lifts and becoming a Service Supervisor prior to Express Lifts being purchased by Otis.
Following the acquisition he was offered a position as a Field Service Manager running a team of 16 service and repairs engineers with the merged organisations of Express Evans. He was responsible for the service delivery and profitability of this business unit and following a period working in the field, Peter was offered the opportunity to train as a Sales Consultant through the Otis “Sales Development Programme”. After the merger of Express Evans and Otis Peter became an account manager for Otis in the North West and Liverpool area.
In 2005 Peter took up the position as General Manager for the independent company Advance Lifts. His role was to lead a management team and manage the whole of Advance Lifts service portfolio and expand it to increase unit sum, profitability and area footprint. This was quickly expanded to include major project work and sales for both Modernisation and New Equipment where he enjoyed success with many major project sales secured over a four year period.
Peter has also been a proactive supporter in pursuing Health and Safety procedures within all areas of the job site and work place. He is a firm believer in ensuring all work place hazards are treated in the appropriate manner to ensure the safety of all individuals.
Peter joined Lerch Bates in March 2011 as a Senior Consultant and will be responsible for promoting Lerch Bates in the Merseyside and North West area.
