Laurent Duban 2Laurent Duban joined Lerch Bates in 2010 as Regional Manager for France. Laurent holds a Baccalaureate in sales and a French Diploma in business and marketing. He brings with him 12+ years of team and office management. During his industry tenure in various sectors such as Electronics, Logistics and the Paper industry, he has held a number of strategic positions giving him extensive experience in business and partnership development, marketing & communications improvement.

In 2005, Laurent joined Kone France as a sales representative in the strategic account division to develop partnerships and contracts with clients such as Icade, Foncia, Loiselet, and Lamy. Now familiar with the Paris market and the lift industry, Laurent then moved to the High Rise Division in 2008 to work closely with Property-Facility Managers and owners on modernisation, full replacement business and maintenance management for a variety of diverse projects including office and high-end business centres, retail buildings, government buildings, palaces & luxury hotels and residential buildings.

CIBSE Lifts Group – Lift Traffic Analysis and Simulation Open Forum – 1-2 March 2011

This is an opportunity for specialist practitioners in traffic design to meet and to discuss areas of common interest.  The format will be presentations by invited experts, followed by discussion.  Discussions will include how simulation should be applied in planning new lift installations.  Where possible, consensus will be sought and reported.

CIBSE Lifts Group Chairman, Michael Bottomley, explains “The CIBSE Lifts Group is the place where people with an interest in the industry meet to share opinions. The forthcoming Traffic Analysis forum will facilitate all those with a specialist interest in the subject to meet and agree the evolution of the principals of lift planning.”

The Forum, which will be held at the Institute of Physics, 76 Portland Place, London, will be chaired by Mr Adam Scott, Chairman of the CIBSE Guide D 2010 Steering Committee.

Vertical Transportation Saudi Arabia, 28 February – 1 March 2011

Saudi Arabia’s inaugral Vertical Transportation event takes place at the JW Marriott Riyadh, Saudi from 28 February to 1 March 2011.  The dedicated vertical transportation conference will focus on meeting the vertical transportation challenges in the country. It will also provide the opportunity to debate hot topics, educate, benchmark, network, and build business relationships with industry peers.

Lerch Bates General Manager, Richard Roberts, is a guest speaker at the conference and will be giving a presentation entitled “Burj Khalifa – VT In The Tallest Building In The World”.  His talk will encompass an overview of the unique architectural challenges of the Burj Khalifa, the physical implications of building height and required elevator speed and how the Burj Khalifa VT system was designed .
